Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips is reportedly on Aston Villa’s radar.

Ian Holloway has suggested to The Daily Star that Kalvin Phillips should not leave Leeds United for Aston Villa in the summer transfer window.

According to The Daily Star, Villa are interested in signing Phillips from Leeds this summer.

The report has claimed that the Villans have offered £15 million for the central midfielder, and that the promoted Premier League club will not increase it.

Former Queens Park Rangers and Millwall manager Holloway has suggested that the 23-year-old central midfielder should stay at Elland Road.

Holloway told The Daily Star about Phillips: “Kalvin has got a lot of games under his belt. He has played a lot so he'd be going to Villa and would be pushing to get in the 1st XI.

“But who knows. Anyone even considering looking to leave Leeds has to ask the question why. I believe under Marcelo Bielsa they could be the club they want to be - although I'm not knocking Aston Villa.”

Leeds United stay?

With Villa playing in the Premier League this season, one can understand why the Villans would be very attractive and appealing to Phillips.

However, Leeds are a massive club, and working under head coach Marcelo Bielsa for another season, the central midfielder will improve, just as he did during the 2018-19 campaign.

Moreover, the Whites will be aiming to finish in the top two of the Championship this season, and Phillips will want to be part of a promotion-winning team
