Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly been chasing the Argentine all summer long.

According to a report from Deportes ABC de Sevilla, Tottenham target Giovani Lo Celso has been welcomed back with open arms by his Real Betis team-mates, having returned from his summer holiday.

The 23-year-old is a reported transfer target for Spurs. The north London outfit are currently not prepared to match the Spanish side’s reported £68 million asking price (Deportes ABC de Sevilla) for the Argentine, however.

Lo Celso is a supremely talented individual, and he would be a truly exceptional signing for Tottenham.

As things stand, however, it seems unlikely that the midfielder will be moving to Spurs, given the fact that they are refusing to pay more than €50 million (£45 million) for his services, according to El Desmarque.

Lo Celso has in fact made it clear that he wants to join Tottenham, according to Diario De Sevilla.

Now that the 23-year-old is back training with his Betis teammates, however, Deportes ABC de Sevilla are reporting that he has been welcomed back with open arms.

They suggest that this is after the Lilywhites have made a ‘dizzying’ offer to the player himself.

That hardly sounds like a player who is trying to force a move away from the club.

So Tottenham might just have to pay up or shut up, if they are going to sign the talented Argentina international is summer.
