Report: Everton want 32-goal Galatasaray striker Mbaye Diagne

Head coach Marco Silva of FC Everton looks on during the Opel Cup 2019 match between FC Everton and FC Sevilla at Opel Arena on July 27, 2019 in Mainz, Germany.

Mbaye Diagne could form a formidable partnership with Moise Kean at Premier League hopefuls Everton next season.

Everton are interested in prolific Galatasaray striker Mbaye Diagne, according to Sabah.

With the transfer window open for just a few more weeks, The Toffees appear to be a couple of signings away from making a concerted effort to break into the top six next season.

Marco Silva needs a centre-back and potentially a right-back too, but a new goal-scorer is surely a must.

It seems only a matter of time before Moise Kean arrives from Juventus to great fanfare (Sky). But, with Cenk Tosun and Oumar Niasse out of favour at Goodison Park, the Italy wonderkid is not the only centre-forward on Everton’s radar.

Reports in Turkey claim that the Merseyside giants are interested in offering late-blooming Diagne the chance to play in a top European league for the first time in his career.

The 27-year-old Senegal international has been in prolific form for some time now and scored 31 goals in all competitions last season, despite leaving Kasimpasa for Galatasaray during the January transfer window. He also netted 32 times in 2017/18.

Diagne has been linked with countless Premier League clubs over the last 18 months or so and, if Everton get their way, he could form an all-new strike force with Kean at Goodison Park.

Everton are hardly short of creativity with Gylfi Sigurdsson, Bernard, Richarlison and Lucas Digne providing plenty of ammunition in the final third. So Kean and Diagne would not be short of chances.
