The Southampton assistant coach is reported to have left St Mary’s as Ralph Hasenhuttl is said to not be looking for a replacement.

A number of Southampton fans have taken to Twitter to discuss the Daily Echo report that Ralph Hasenhuttl’s assistant, Danny Rohl, has left the Premier League club.

The 30-year-old, who held a similar role during his time alongside Hasenhuttl at RB Leipzig, was recruited by the Saints shortly after the Austrian took the reins last December following Mark Hughes’s departure from St Mary’s Stadium.

According to the report, which is as yet unconfirmed by Southampton – on website or social – as of Wednesday afternoon, Rohl has left the club this summer and has returned to Germany, with the reasons still “somewhat of a mystery” but with Hasenhuttl “untroubled by the development”.

In addition, it has been reported that the Saints manager will not be looking for a replacement following the “unexpected development” as he feels his new-look coaching line-up will provide him with all the support he needs as things stand.

Here is what some Southampton fans said on social media regarding the reported development at St Mary’s:

Southampton have one more pre-season friendly this summer, against FC Koln, before getting their Premier League campaign under way with a trip to Burnley.
