Sheffield Wednesday reportedly rejected an offer from Norwich City for Jordan Rhodes.

According to a report from the Sheffield Star, Sheffield Wednesday have been left incensed by Norwich after the Premier League newbies attempted to land Jordan Rhodes on a free transfer. 

Rhodes spent last season on loan at Carrow Road, and helped the Canaries secure promotion to the Premier League, scoring six goals in the league for Daniel Farke's men. 

 

The Sheffield Star reports that there are doubts over the £8 million signing's future at Hillsborough. Nevertheless, Norwich remain keen on resigning the Scotland international as they gear up for their return to the top flight.

However, it appears that they are now going to have produce something special to get Rhodes signed. The Sheffield Star reports that Wednesday were infuriated by Norwich's bid to take Rhodes on a free transfer.

It is no surprise that the Owls were not happy about Norwich's bid and had no hesitation in rejecting their offer. Rhodes has struggled since joining Wednesday, but they should still be able to demand a decent fee for the 29-year-old given that he has been one of the Football League's most prolific goalscorers during his career.

And if he ends the window still on Wednesday's books and finds himself in the next manager's plans, there is every chance that he could make an impact for the club during the coming campaign.
