Everton have been quiet in the transfer market in recent weeks, but the sale of Idrissa Gueye to Paris Saint-Germain is sparking them into life.
A midfielder will be needed to replace Gueye, but the Toffees are pushing for a new striker first – and they appear to be closing in on a huge coup.
The Mirror report that Juventus striker Moise Kean is set for a medical with Everton, ahead of a shock move to Goodison Park.
Everton will be paying an initial £25million for Kean, rising to £36million, and whilst Juventus wanted a buy-back clause, they've had to settle for a first option in a future deal.
It's enough of a coup to get Kean in the first place, but to make sure that Juventus don't have a buy-back clause is quite remarkable.
Kean, 19, hit six goals in just 13 games for Juventus last season, which is even more impressive when you realise that only five of those games came as a starter.
The Italian looks set for a huge future, and many are stunned that Juventus have let him go, leaving Liverpool fans to react to their city rivals securing such an impressive deal.
Some have no idea how Everton have pulled off such a deal, believing he's a superb signing and an 'absolute steal' for the Toffees at the price quoted, with many wondering just why Liverpool are sitting back and allowing teams to gain ground on them with such impressive deals.
Everton out here signing Moise Kean and Liverpool is doing nothing... Come on!!!— Jonathon (@ynwa_sweetin) July 30, 2019
I don't know how the ev have convinced Moise Kean to join them but that was really unexpected tbf.— Erhan (New Account) (@ErhanLfc) July 30, 2019
Kean to Everton is another nice deal for them. Wonder if Juve have a buy back clause. I’d expect them to.— - (@Coppin_LFC) July 30, 2019
If Everton get Kean and Zaha over the line then they will be a very tough opponent for the top 6, so sad about us letting our rivals catch up on us..the most Liverpool thing ever— BlaqSoul (@BonafideLFC) July 30, 2019
Moise Kean nearly complete with NO buy back clause in the contract however Juventus will be called if Everton receive any bids for Kean in the future. A solid signing for Everton it has to be said, will be interesting to see if Kean can adapt to premier league foootball.— Arjun (@ArjunLFC_) July 30, 2019
Decent young player, €40m!— Ste (@SteBreeze) July 30, 2019
Don't tell me that Moise Kean at £30M (A) wasn't realistic for us without our limited budget despite being loaded (B) wouldn't have chosen #LFC over a lot of other clubs.— Stu (@SmallHandStu) July 30, 2019
No value in the market though innit. Of course.
That Moise Kean price tag is an absolute steal.— Jonny Alves (@JonnyLFC93) July 30, 2019
Everton pulling off a madness if they get Kean for less than £30m. Even if he wants to move on in a few years should bag them a hefty profit.— The LFC Community (@LFCCommunity) July 30, 2019
