Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has seemingly been keen to bring in Giovani Lo Celso for much of the summer so far.

Gus Poyet has told ITV Four, during their live coverage of Tottenham Hotspur’s match against Real Madrid, that Giovani Lo Celso should be asking Mauricio Pochettino where he is going to play before switching to White Hart Lane.

Tottenham have been linked with Lo Celso all summer, as reported by Sky Sports, although their progress with the £70 million transfer has been very slow.

Spurs have still not got a deal over the line for Lo Celso, much to the frustration of many of their supporters.

Poyet feels that bringing in the Argentine would be a wise move for Tottenham.

However, he has suggested that Lo Celso should ask Pochettino where he intends on playing him before arriving at White Hart Lane.

He said: “If I’m Lo Celso and I’m coming to Spurs and you talk to the coach, you say where am I going to play? Who’s going to play number 10, who’s playing right? You’re going to find a way, especially when you’re an expensive player. They need a touch of quality.”

Lo Celso would be competing with the likes of Dele Alli, Lucas Moura, Erik Lamela and Heung-Min Son if he was to join Tottenham this summer.

He could also have the added complication of having to battle with Christian Eriksen for a place in the starting line-up, as the Dane may well stay with Spurs, after a summer of speculation over his future.

Tottenham are under pressure to complete a deal for Lo Celso, as there is a real feeling around the club that they haven’t brought in enough players this summer, with Tanguy Ndombele the only new face added to Pochettino’s squad so far.
