Leeds United rounded off their pre-season campaign with an encouraging 1-1 draw against the Serie A side.

Once again, it looks to be the young players in Leeds’ ranks who have arguably provided the biggest positive coming out of pre-season, with plenty of fans lauding Mateusz Bogusz on Twitter following the Whites’ draw with Cagliari on Saturday.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side’s summer concluded with a 1-1 draw in Sardinia, with Pablo Hernandez equalising from the penalty spot after the Serie A side had broken the deadlock early on in the first-half.

There were moments of concern – particularly at the back – but Leeds definitely held their own against top flight opposition, and will have plenty to be optimistic about heading into Sunday’s Championship curtain-raiser against Bristol City.

And one of the players who must have an outside chance of featuring at Ashton Gate is Bogusz after he was given another 25 minutes to impress in Italy as he replaced countryman Mateusz Klich.

Why you'd be foolish to write Celtic off next season

Some fans noted that it was not long enough for the 17-year-old to make a major impact. But plenty on social media felt that Bogusz staked a further claim to have a first-team role this season after showing further glimpses of his quality.

Several supporters are drooling over his potential as he did not look at all out of place once again. And the fans are praising the club for unearthing what looks to be an incredibly talented prospect.

Here is how some of the fans reacted to Bogusz’s performance in Leeds’ final pre-season game…
