Some Aston Villa fans on Twitter are behind a potential move for Liverpool's Harry Wilson.
According to Sky Sports, Aston Villa are set to rival Newcastle United for the 22-year-old's signature.
Liverpool won't be loaning out Wilson again, meaning that Villa and everybody else will have to pay around £20 million - £15 million of which is up front - for the young Reds winger.
Dean Smith has already brought three wide players to Bodymoor Heath this summer - Jota, Anwar El Ghazi and Trezeguet.
But Aston Villa fans on Twitter are game to see another winger get signed.
Would be awesome to get him— AVFC Pearson (@AvfcPearson) July 26, 2019
If it’s a loan deal it’s not worth it but on a permanent I feel like he could be a serious player— James (@JPainter_) July 26, 2019
If it’s a permanent deal, then it would be good. A loan would be pointless— Ieuan Wynne (@ieuan_wynne) July 26, 2019
Could we have dreamed that 9 months ago ?— Matthew Deeming (@avfcmd81) July 26, 2019
Good players on their day all of them.
Exciting times ahead.
Would prefer benahrama but Wilson is also a decent player— AVFC- Prem Winner 2019/20 (@OllyRhodes4) July 26, 2019
More the merrier, he’d be better in a team like ours— ً (@DanBIunt) July 27, 2019
Take him pal he can only get better imo— Cia Bradley (@UtvAvfc1DSmith) July 26, 2019
Wilson scored 18 goals across all competitions for Championship side Derby County last season, which is a fine return but the fact is that he isn't proven in the Premier League.
That being said, he is 22 and despite a sizeable price-tag, he could be a very decent signing for the Villans.
But would he play? Arguably not by virtue of the wingers that Smith has already signed, but being a squad player for Aston Villa, and potentially earning first-team chances, is better than returning to the Championship and the player himself might fancy a stint in the West Midlands.
