Dean Smith's Aston Villa picked up a comfortable victory against Walsall yesterday.
Villa took on Walsall last night and picked up a comfortable win, with new boy Wesley getting on the scoresheet twice.
Wesley hit two goals in the first half for Villa, as Dean Smith’s side picked up an impressive victory against their lower league opponents.
And Collymore claims that Wesley already looks like an excellent addition to Villa’s squad.
Can't express how important a quick thinker is in an attacking midfield.— Stan Collymore (@StanCollymore) July 24, 2019
Have seen enough of Wesley already to see he's going to hurt defenders this season if you see him then find him early.
No side to side 25 passes, find him early. Jack and Jota have that speed of thought. https://t.co/AWKgN696SR
Wesley is having to carry much of the goalscoring burden at Villa, heading into the new season, as he is the only out and out striker Dean Smith’s side have signed so far.
It could be that Villa push to sign another forward to add competition for Wesley before the close of the transfer window.
Villa new boy Jota also scored twice against Walsall, while Grealish found himself on the scoresheet too.
Villa are next in action at the weekend when they take on Charlton Athletic.
