Some Celtic fans were blown away by the performance of Ryan Christie on Wednesday night after Neil Lennon’s side romped to a 5-0 victory over Nomme Kalju at Celtic Park.

The attacking midfielder scored twice and assisted another on the night, continuing his fine start to the season after last week’s outing vs Sarajevo.

The outstanding man-of-the-match calibre display spurred his side on to a home leg advantage that has surely killed off the tie before next week’s trip to Estonia.

Christie’s rise at Celtic over the last 12 months has been enormous, starting last season on the fringes of Brendan Rodgers’ squad before bursting on to the scene in the Scottish League Cup.

From that point on he’s proven to be one of the club’s most important players and after Wednesday night has now scored 14 goals and assisted 11 more since late last year.

When you consider he missed the tail-end of last season after a facial injury, it’s a remarkable contribution. There looks to be no stopping him.
