Newcastle United are set to bring Hoffenheim striker Joelinton to the Premier League and another Bundesliga star, Augsburg’s Max, may allegedly join him.

Joelinton of TSG Hoffenheim looks on during the Bundesliga match between TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and Bayer 04 Leverkusen at PreZero-Arena on March 29, 2019 in Sinsheim, Germany.

With the Rafa Benitez saga out of the way, Newcastle United can now focus on bringing some much needed additions to St James’ Park during the final few weeks of the transfer window.

And, believe it or not, owner Mike Ashley appears willing to dip his hand into his rather deep pocket this summer. According to The Mail, he will allow Newcastle to shatter their transfer record in order to bring in Hoffenheim striker Joelinton for a staggering £36 million.

This wasn’t just idle paper talk. Eagle eyed Newcastle fans will have spotted that Joelinton was seen at St James’ Park on Tuesday as his money-spinning move edges closer.

A mobile targetman standing at 6ft 1ins, questions will now turn to whether Newcastle have the requisite creativity to get the best out of the Brazilian. But in Philipp Max, The Magpies could sign a player capable of providing the ammunition.

According to the Chronicle, the Augsburg left-back is being ‘pushed’ in the direction of Newcastle and, for £18 million, they could sign a player who’s outstanding crossing ability is reminiscent of Leighton Baines in his pomp.

Max shot to fame in 2017/18, producing 12 assists in an outstanding Bundesliga season with his pinpoint delivery and devilish set-pieces proving simply unstoppable.

Joelinton would surely be licking his lips at the prospect of forming a fearsome partnership with Max on Tyneside.
