La Cuarta have reported that Tottenham Hotspur flew to Santiago in Chile over the past few days in an effort to sign Ivan Morales.
Spurs need a new striker this summer after releasing Fernando Llorente and selling Vincent Janssen, with Harry Kane being Mauricio Pochettino's only centre-forward as things stand.
And La Cuarta have claimed that Tottenham are interested in the 19-year-old Morales - who has one cap for Chile - but despite flying to South America, they were unable to do a deal with Colo Colo.
The report adds that the teenage hitman has a release clause of around £4.5 million, which they considered a 'very high price', and that the North Londoners only offered $3 million - or £2.6 million.
The publication also wrote that the North Londoners had no interest in owning 60 percent of Morales's image rights.
Morales, who made his debut for Chile earlier this year, has only managed to score once in 414 minutes for Colo Colo so far this season.
The teenager is contracted to the Chilean club until 2022, according to Transfermarkt, and it's clear that if Tottenham do want him, he would be one for the future.
But would his arrival negatively impact Troy Parrott? Possibly, considering that he would leapfrog the 17-year-old Irish marksman in the pecking order.
Parrott enjoyed an excellent debut under Mauricio Pochettino on Sunday as the Lilywhites beat Juventus 3-2 in an International Champions Cup game.
