Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are in action again on Thursday evening, as Steven Gerrard’s men look to make progress in Europe.

George Edmundson has told Glasgow Rangers official website that fans have excited him about the atmosphere that could await him at Ibrox.

Edmundson made his Ibrox debut last week, and the Rangers new boy praised the atmosphere that the supporters created.

However, Rangers fans were quick to tell Edmundson that Ibrox wasn’t even loud last Thursday, as Steven Gerrard’s side cruised to a 6-0 victory over St. Joseph’s in the Europa League.

“I put something on Twitter and most of the fans were saying that was quite quiet, so I can’t wait for a bigger game, like on Thursday night,” Rangers new centre-back said.

Rangers are due to play at Ibrox again on Thursday, when they take on Progres.

The atmosphere at Ibrox should be even louder as the tie is still in the balance, whereas Rangers were effectively already through by the time they took on St. Joseph’s last week.

Edmundson may well have a chance of starting for Steven Gerrard’s side, as he has made a solid enough beginning to life at Rangers since joining from Oldham Athletic.

Edmundson does face a fierce battle to earn a starting spot at Rangers, but he has done himself no harm over pre-season.

Rangers drew 1-1 with Blackburn Rovers in their latest friendly, with Edmundson featuring for a portion of the contest.
