Aston Villa stopper Lovre Kalinic was only brought in by Dean Smith in January, but could make a hasty exit.

Aston Villa fans do not think it is worth selling Lovre Kalinic for just £3 million.

The Sunday People (21/7; page 54) claims that Villa could look to sell Kalinic this summer for what looks like a relatively cheap price.

Villa only signed Kalinic in January, but he has struggled badly ever since moving to the Midlands.

The Croatian was hit by injury soon after joining, and Jed Steer seems to have jumped ahead of him in the pecking order at Villa now.

Dean Smith’s side are still on the look out for a new number one, which means that Kalinic could well be third choice by the time the season comes around.

Villa are now reportedly eager to get Kalinic off their books.

However, the stopper has actually had a solid pre-season so far.

And many Villa fans feel that they are letting Kalinic go too cheaply, if they only want £3 million for him.
