It was reported by The Record in June that Rangers boss Steven Gerrard was interested in offloading Barisic and replacing him with Kilmarnock's Greg Taylor.

But the 26-year-old has been an important player for Gerrard so far on the journey to Europa League qualifying, and scored a free kick in the demolition at St Joseph's earlier this month.

Now, Barisic claims that he 'feels great' in Glasgow and insists that he has a 'brilliant relationship' with the Rangers manager.

"I really have a brilliant relationship with Steven Gerrard. We talk about tactics and current issues," he told The Scottish Sun.

"There are no problems. I feel great here and I am completely devoted to Rangers. Life in Glasgow is really good."

In terms of talent, Barisic has plenty and if he can be consistent then he'll also have a much better second season in Scotland.

As noted, he had injury problems last season, but he was often poor and underwhelming when he was available and if he can fix that, it'd go a long way for Rangers.
