The Leeds United attacker is an injury concern for Marcelo Bielsa.

There’s quite a worrying picture of Leeds United’s Kemar Roofe doing the rounds on social media.
The United attacker came off injured during Saturday’s 2-1 win over Western Sydney Wanderers in their end-of-season tour of Australia, prompting concern given that there’s only two weeks to go until Marcelo Bielsa’s side kick off their Championship campaign away to Bristol City.
And there is an image circulating Twitter which shows Roofe wearing a leg brace while posing for a photo with Leeds fans – the same type of brace that he wore during the second half of last season when he missed nearly two months.
The bad news is that Roofe – a £3 million signing in 2016 [Yorkshire Post] – was the Whites’ top goalscorer last season and if he’s out for a lengthy period of time then it’s a crushing blow for Bielsa.
The good news is that the transfer window is still open and this must be a major wake-up call for Leeds’ Director of Football Victor Orta whatever happens.
Roofe and Bamford are Bielsa’s only senior strikers and injuries to either one might spell disaster. Orta desperately needs to bring in a third tried-and-tested goalscorer.
It must be noted that there is no prognosis available on the 26-year-old yet but, whether it’s good news or bad, the Spanish transfer guru needs to find and sign somebody to challenge him and Bamford.
