Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma enjoyed a successful season at Everton during the 2018/19 campaign, as Marco Silva’s side are reportedly keen on bringing him back to Goodison Park.
Everton supporters on Twitter have reacted with delight to a report that Kurt Zouma could realistically be making a return to the club this summer.
The Sunday People (21/7, page 54), have reported that centre-back Zouma has told Chelsea he wants to leave Stamford Bridge and make a return to Everton ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
It is said that a key factor behind Zouma’s decision is his desire to make France’s squad for Euro 2020, with the up and coming season huge for fringe players wanting to represent their nation on the big stage next summer.
The recent report has taken a stunning turn in this transfer saga because Frank Lampard recently stated that he wanted Zouma to stay at the club ahead of the new season, as quoted by Squawka.
Either way, the latest news has delighted Everton supporters, who are hoping the reports are true and they can re-sign the powerful defender.
Zouma’s loan spell at Everton last season was a successful one, as he is also built a strong partnership with Michael Keane.
The Toffees did have their moments during the campaign, but as the season wore on, Marco Silva’s side got stronger, especially in defence.
There’s no doubt that Zouma’s return will boost Silva’s side in a huge manner as the Goodison Park faithful are gearing for his potential return.
If he does make the switch from London to Merseyside then it’ll increase Everton’s chances of securing European football ahead of the new campaign.
Here is a selection of Everton fans reacting to Zouma wanting to join the club:
30/40m is a bargain when you think john stines is worth 50m an he regularly sits on the bench, which more then likely what zouma will be doin at chelsea— not so magic michael.. (@blackers84) July 21, 2019

Hope the Zouma stories are true. Good to see him taking control of his career. Really strange he signed such a long deal when he was continually farmed out on loan. He needs to play #EFC— Nick Jones (@nickjones314) July 21, 2019
