The Reds player is reportedly close to leaving the City Ground but he nonetheless helped Algeria to continental glory while on Forest's books.
The Desert Warriors beat Senegal 1-0 in the Cairo final thanks to a second-minute strike from Baghdad Bounedjah, with Guedioura making his seventh appearance in the tournament.
Such was the 33-year-old's importance to the Fennecs that head coach Djamel Belmadi - who brought him back to the fold after two years out - described him as "undroppable" (The Guardian) prior to the final.
For Forest, Guedioura endured a difficult season last time out as injuries restricted his playing time, while Martin O'Neill seldom utilised him after arriving at the City Ground even when fit again.
With just one year left on his contract (Transfermarkt) and the fact he turns 34 this year, it remains to be seen whether the former Watford man still has a future at the East Midlands club - indeed, Le Buteur has claimed that talks are at an advanced stage between Guedioura and Kuwait SC.
Nonetheless, whether Guedioura stays or leaves, he has won a continental title whilst on Forest's books - here is what some Trickies fans (plus teammate Ben Osborn) said on social media about his achievements:
