Leeds fans respond after Kemar Roofe posts Twitter message after WSW game

The Whites forward started for Marcelo Bielsa's side against Western Sydney Wanderers but had to come off for the Elland Road side in the second half.

Leeds United forward Kemar Roofe has taken to Twitter with a message following the Whites' pre-season friendly win over Western Sydney Wanderers.

The 26-year-old was named in Marcelo Bielsa's starting XI as the Elland Road side ran out 2-1 winners over the A-League side at the Bankwest Stadium.

Mateusz Bogusz had given Leeds the lead, sweeping in Jack Harrison's cut-back after nine minutes, before Kwame Yeboah equalised for Wanderers in the second half.

 

It looked as though both sides were set for a draw, only for Pablo Hernandez to weave his way through a crowd of defenders before rifling past Nick Suman deep into injury time.

Early in the second half, Roofe went down and received treatment, before having to come off, making way for Jordan Stevens.

Roofe scored 15 Championship goals in 28 starts for Leeds last season but, with his contract expiring next summer, the forward has been linked with a move away, Sky Sports having claimed that Premier League duo Crystal Palace and Brighton & Hove Albion are interested in his services.
