Newcastle United midfielder Isaac Hayden has actually been linked with a move to Nuno’s Wolverhampton Wanderers side.
Wolverhampton Wanderers supporters have hit back at Newcastle United’s Isaac Hayden after they battered them in pre-season.
Wolves won 4-0 against Newcastle yesterday, in what was a humiliating first friendly for Steve Bruce’s new side.
Wolves thumped Newcastle during the contest, and the Molineux crowd have not forgotten Hayden’s comments about them last season.
The central midfielder was not exactly complimentary about Wolves after Newcastle held them to a 1-1 draw.
“If I am being brutally honest, I am struggling to see why they are seventh,” Hayden said to the Telegraph.
“We have given them two good games this season, one at home and one away. We have come out of them both thinking we deserve a lot more.”
Wolves fans now think that they have proven a point to Hayden, who was in poor form during the friendly match.

Hayden has actually been linked with a £15 million move to Wolves this summer in the Northern Echo, but that seems unlikely at this stage.
Hayden was at fault for the third goal which Newcastle conceded, as he surrendered possession too easily, and Diogo Jota smashed home.
Wolves are further ahead of Newcastle in their pre-season preparations but the contest was a rude awakening for the Magpies, and highlighted their problems.
Bruce is now due to travel to Asia to take charge of Newcastle for the first time.
Bruce will be in the dugout when Newcastle play West Ham United at the weekend, while Wolves will take on Manchester City.
