Leao, 20, left Sporting in his native Portugal last summer after a training ground incident, and whilst huge clubs were linked, Lille managed to secure his signature.
The forward hit eight goals and three assists in 24 Ligue 1 games last season, and he has been linked with a move to Everton for many months now having seemingly impressed Marcel Brands.
It's now thought that Leao will be leaving Lille, as they've received four bids for him; Everton's comes in at €37.5million (£33.8million), Valencia have offered €35million plus €5million in add-ons, Napoli have offered €32.5million plus a 10% sell-on clause and Aston Villa's move is currently unclear.
We wondered earlier this week whether Villa were the mystery club involved in the pursuit of Leao, and that does seem to be the case, with L'Equipe believing they're the last club in the race, but no figures have been claimed.
Leao would be a hugely exciting addition for either side, possessing great pace and technical ability as well as strength at 6ft 2in tall, meaning he has the potential to become an all-round centre forward.
Villa have already spent heavily this summer, so seeing them splash even more cash on such an exciting player like Leao would really show their intentions to not only stay in the Premier League, but also to push for a mid-table or even top half finish.
Everton may be able to convince Leao by offering him a move to play under compatriot Marco Silva, and their offer is the biggest bid in terms of up-front money, which may just put them to the front of the queue.
Another interesting note in this tale is that Lille have now agreed a deal to sign Charleroi striker Victor Osimhen, which would again point to Leao leaving.
