Celtic picked up a 2-1 win against FK Sarajevo on Wednesday night, with Lewis Morgan one of the top performers.
Celtic are through to the second qualifying round of the Champions League after a 5-2 aggregate win over Bosnian champions FK Sarajevo.
Building on their 3-1 first leg lead, the Hoops produced a professional performance to see off their visitors 2-1 in the home leg on Wednesday night.
Goals from Ryan Christie and Callum McGregor got the job done in front of a home support that hope their club can make the group stages of the competition this season.
The Hoops will now face Estonian champions Nomme Kalju in round two of qualifying.
Neil Lennon fielded a strong team for the encounter and with Mikey Johnston picking up an injury last week, Lewis Morgan was given a rare starting chance.
Morgan has a number of substitute appearances under his belt at the Hoops but had only started once previously, in a tough match away to RB Leipzig.
The Sarajevo test provided a much better opportunity to transition the 22-year-old into the team and he looked confident during the 90 minutes, starting on the left flank before switching to the right.
With pace, skill and a real desire to get the ball into the box, he could be a potent wide threat for Celtic this season.
Can he be the new breakout star at the Hoops, following in the footsteps of former fringe players such as Christie?
These fans were at least pleased with his Wednesday display, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts…
Thought he was very good tonight. Very promising for the year ahead. Great competition for the wide places— David Doherty (@dockers_hoops) July 17, 2019
I thought he improved when he switched sides. Very direct and decent delivery but we need a forward who will attack them. I think he could do well if given more opportunities.— Paul Curran (@paulbhoy88) July 17, 2019
He gets into good positions, always wants the ball, can take it in under pressure and creates attempts at goal regularly. He’ll get even better with a run in the team.— Stephen (@Sinc1888) July 17, 2019
Actually was more effective than Forrest last night…A striker who attacks the near post will love him.— central scrutinizer (@centralscrutin2) July 18, 2019
I thought he was excellent and challenged Christie as MoM.— Tenacious D (@johndelaney67) July 17, 2019
He completely outshone Forrest on both wings.
Much better on right, could be this seasons Christie— Kevin McGurk (@kevybhoy73) July 17, 2019
Always rated him , Rodgers never gave him a chance— gonnienodaethatjustgonnieno (@gonnienodaetha1) July 17, 2019
Was very good on the right. Whipped in some excellent balls into the box and tracked backed well.— (@rebelcountybhoy) July 17, 2019
