Should Newcastle United make a move for James McCarthy?

The outlet believe that in the event Steve Bruce takes charge at St James’ Park, he will look at the Toffees and attempt to sign both the Republic of Ireland international and Yannick Bolasie.
McCarthy has had a fairly roller-coaster spell at Goodison Park, making regular appearances in his first three seasons before injury problems took over.
Suffering a horror leg break last January against West Bromwich Albion, he only managed to make one solitary appearance for Everton last term.
Still, at 28 he is not finished yet and if a manager can get him back fit, happy and playing then there is potential there for the player to be an effective Premier League talent.
With less than a year left on his contract at the club, this summer could be the Toffees’ last chance to recoup some money for him.
Newcastle are entering a new managerial era and will be looking to maximise how far their money stretches in the transfer market.

Could a move for McCarthy be smart business?
Newcastle fans are unconvinced, with many taking to Twitter this week to share their thoughts on the links…
