Aston Villa fans react to update on Leeds United's Kalvin Phillips

MIDDLESBROUGH, UK 9TH FEBRUARY. Kalvin Phillips of Leeds United scores his team's first goal to make it 1-1 in the 102nd minute during the Sky Bet Championship match between Middlesbrough...

Aston Villa are said to be considering Conor Hourihane for Leeds United's Kalvin Phillips, but there is a lot of scepticism about the reports.

Conor Hourihane of Ireland celebrate scoring during the UEFA Euro 2020 Qualifying Round Group D match between Republic of Ireland and Georgia at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland on March...

Aston Villa fans simply cannot believe that Conor Hourihane will be offered to Leeds United any time soon.

TeamTalk claim that Villa could make one last push to sign Kalvin Phillips from Leeds, and that a trade deal could be possible.

The report suggests that Villa would be willing to offer Leeds a chance to land Hourihane.

However, Villa fans have laughed off the suggestions that the central midfielder could leave.

Hourihane has just signed a new long-term contract with Villa, and has had an important part to play under Dean Smith so far.

It does indeed seem highly unlikely that Hourihane would be traded for Phillips, even though Villa are very keen on the Leeds man.

Leeds have so far fended off interest in Phillips, and there seems to be increasing optimism that the enforcer will still be at Elland Road next season.
