West Ham fans react to Salomon Rondon development

West Ham United might be closing in on a new striker, but it won't be Salomon Rondon.

It looks like West Ham United won't be signing Salomon Rondon.

According to The Northern Echo, the Irons wanted to sign the West Bromwich Albion hitman, who spent last season on loan at Newcastle United.

But according to Sky Sports, the South American marksman is headed to China to team up with former Magpies boss Rafael Benitez, who brought himt to St James's Park last summer.

Despite the move for Sebastien Haller seeming imminent, West Ham will still need another number nine this summer and Rondon, given he is tried-and-tested in the Premier League, might've been ideal.

But it appears as if he won't be heading to East London and here's how Hammers fans reacted to the development about Dalian Yifang.

Realistically, West Ham wouldn't have been signing Haller and Rondon anyway.

The former Newcastle star is 6'2 and, like Haller, is a physical and powerful striker.

Having both makes very little sense for Manuel Pellegrini, whose next striker will be everything that Haller isn't, perhaps pacey and nimble, the type to play on the shoulders of whatever centre-back is marking him.
