Liverpool may pull off a masterstroke if they sign the Fulham full-back.

Tottenham Hotspur are clear favourites to snap up Fulham star Ryan Sessegnon this summer. But Liverpool legend Steve Nicol hasn’t given up hope that the England U21 international will end up at Anfield, speaking to ESPN.
Sessegnon has long been viewed as one of the brightest prospects in British football and, after Fulham were relegated from the Premier League last season, it seems only a matter of time before he takes a step up from life at Craven Cottage.
Football London claims that Sessegnon would choose Tottenham over Liverpool as he wants to work with Mauricio Pochettino, a coach who turned Harry Kane, Kyle Walker, Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli into world renowned footballing talents in North London.
But Sessegnon, who Sky claims is valued at £40 million, shouldn’t overlook the strides Trent Alexander-Arnold and even Mo Salah and Sadio Mane have made while honing their trade under Jurgen Klopp on Merseyside.

And Nicol believes that Sessegnon would be a perfect fit at Liverpool, especially with Andy Robertson lacking any real competition at left-back.
“Ryan Sessegnon; He is not starting but he is there to push the others already in the first team (at Liverpool),” Nicol said.
“He would be there to make the starting eleven better. In two or three years time he would be pushing Robertson or whoever it is down the left hand side.”
Sessegnon’s pro-Spurs stance makes Liverpool’s task very hard, however, and it remains to be seen whether the 19-year-old could be tempted to join a club where he would probably spend much of his time on the bench.
