Sheffield Wednesday fans have been left fuming with Steve Bruce’s conduct, amid rumours that he could leave for Newcastle United.
Bruce has only been with Wednesday for six months, but he quickly looks set to move on from Hillsborough.
And many Owls fans are raging with what Bruce has said about a potential move to Newcastle now.
“Out of respect, I thought it was only right that I go and talk to them,” Bruce said to The Sun.
“Thankfully the chairman gave me permission to go and have a conversation.”
The comments have not gone down at all well at Wednesday, as they feel he has lacking respect for their club.
Bruce's brief tenure at #swfc is becoming untenable. He says "Out of respect, I thought it was only right that I go and talk (to #NUFC)."— Laura Lawrence (@YICETOR) July 13, 2019
Where is the respect for #swfc who afforded you time, resources and 6 months of restructuring the club?
Either way Bruce has to be a goner, he’s handled this appallingly. Get Chris Hughton in, great manager, great at EPL level and won’t walk out on you like this flake does— JB II (@claudey_jivo) July 14, 2019
I see this dragging on for a while yet. Bruce’s position surely untenable now whatever happens, but Ashley will hold out for the minimum amount he can get away with paying. Not good for either club.— Michael Hudson (@DolphinHotel) July 13, 2019
The man has no respect, the fact that he said those words prove it— Andy Bullement (@andybullement) July 13, 2019
Bruce showing how to alienate two sets of fans at the same time !!!!!— gary hakin (@garyhakin) July 14, 2019
Even if it falls through, Bruce has shown a complete lack of respect for Chansiri and swfc. I don’t want him anywhere near the club completely let us down. Ashley and Bruce deserve each other!— Chris Pugh (@chpugh1) July 14, 2019
"Out of respect" absolutely classic Steve Bruce https://t.co/DEaRTuvpwE— Sean Mahon (@seanmahon) July 14, 2019
Out of respect to who???? Himself ?? Blokes a joke , get 3 million for him and Houghton in— Jarvo (@1453e5f9c0d0499) July 13, 2019
Get him out. We showed him compassion & loyalty when we appoint him & all we as fans want is respect & loyalty. He has show none of the above over the past 3 days. His comments after the game showed that. Keep him away until we agree a deal & get Houghton in!!— Robert Larkin (@RobLarkin81) July 13, 2019
Bruce actually did a very impressive job at Wednesday towards the back end of last campaign, but it seems that the Owls will be searching for a new manager now.
Newcastle fans do not appear satisfied by Bruce’s potential appointment, which means that the experienced boss will have a lot of doubters to win over at St. James’ Park, if he does make the move.
