Everton have already snapped up Jonas Lossl and Andre Gomes this summer, but reports suggest that another signing is on the way.

The Toffees have been strongly linked with a move for Manchester City's Fabian Delph in recent days, and it appears that a deal is very close.

The Daily Mail report that Delph underwent a medical with Everton on Saturday ahead of sealing his move, which will cost £8.5million rising to £10million.

Delph was expected to head over to Switzerland on Sunday to join up with the Everton side, even though his move hasn't yet been announced.

Today, the situation took an interesting turn, as some Everton fans noticed that left back Lucas Digne has just started following Delph on Instagram.

Of course, footballers often follow other footballers, but the timing would hint that Digne knows Delph is Everton's next season, and they may have even met in Switzerland.

It's especially interesting as Delph may well provide competition at left back behind Digne, meaning the pair may end up fighting it out under Marco Silva.

Delph played at left back under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, but he can also play in midfield too, and Digne appears to be welcoming the versatile England international ahead of his imminent move – before they potentially battle it out for playing time at left back, with Digne understandably the favourite.
