Leeds United’s Mateusz Klich has been linked with a move to Burnley.

Leeds United have been attempting to fend off interest in Kalvin Phillips and Kemar Roofe, but may now face more interest in their key players.

Jack Clarke was sold to Tottenham, but Leeds cushioned the blow by bringing him back on loan, and Andrea Radrizzani should be looking to avoid any more sales.

However, The Sun now claim that Burnley are interested in signing Mateusz Klich, but are a little torn over how much to offer for the Polish international.

Klich, 29, was an outcast under Thomas Christiansen and started out under Marcelo Bielsa as a centre back in pre-season last summer, before becoming an outstanding box-to-box midfielder.

Klich ended last season with 10 goals and nine assists to his name, and he started every single Championship game Leeds played last season, including the play-offs.

Leeds won’t want to let Klich go, and whilst he has one year left on his contract – which some may think will force Leeds into a sale – Leeds have a one-year option in the deal, meaning his deal most likely ends in 2021.

Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react to the rumours, with many desperately hoping that Klich isn’t sold as he’s so important to Bielsa, urging the Whites to tell Burnley where to go if they come calling for Klich.

Fans also added that this is the price to pay for not winning promotion, hoping that owner Radrizzani doesn’t see the rumours, as he’ll cash in at the first opportunity having recently sold Pontus Jansson.

Others think that the rumours make sense, because The Daily Record just reported that Leeds want Brentford’s Romaine Sawyers – and some think he may be lined up as Klich’s replacement.
