After the Reds beat Tottenham in the Champions League final on June 1, Opta Joe tweeted out: "No opposition player has completed a dribble past Virgil van Dijk in any of his last 64 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool. Rock."
But the claim is being disputed by Spurs attacker Lucas, who faced the Liverpool stalwart on a number of occasion last season.
The Brazilian, who scored against Jurgen Klopp's side last season, told Desimpedidos: "Dude, now this question there I don’t know if it’s true. They say he hasn’t been dribbled past since… whatever. If the guy is past him, it’s already a dribble.
"I don't know, but the guys must have gone past him now. I know I scored a goal against Liverpool, we lost, but I scored against Liverpool and he was left behind. But he's great. He is."
Suffice to say that fans of the Anfield club have certainly seen the humour in Lucas's suggestion that the statistic is false.

Van Dijk is widely considered to be one of the sport's finest centre-backs, if not the finest.
And although the Tottenham star is entitled to question what he hears, Opta, who are among the world's leading sports analytics companies, more than likely haven't made a mistake with this.
It's possible that Lucas has simply misunderstood the statistic about the Liverpool star.
