If Arsenal want Nicolas Pepe, should Spurs pursue Wilfried Zaha?

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have both been linked to Wilfried Zaha.

Arsenal have reportedly made a bid for Nicolas Pepe - and it might just benefit Tottenham Hotspur.

French outlet TF1 claimed on Saturday that the Gunners had made a £72 million offer for the Lille winger.

This is interesting from a Tottenham perspective because if Arsenal are going after Pepe then maybe, just maybe, the path is clearer for Spurs to sign Wilfried Zaha.

The Guardian reported last month that the Lilywhites were keen on the Crystal Palace winger.

But Zaha, according to The Daily Mail, wanted to join their North London rivals Arsenal - and if Unai Emery's side are focusing on Pepe then, in theory, there is less of a threat for Mauricio Pochettino.

The 26-year-old is valued at around £70 million [The Daily Mail] and although Tottenham are linked to numerous other names - like Giovani Lo Celso and Dani Ceballos - Pochettino should definitely go back for the Ivory Coast international if he's genuniely interested.

If Arsenal want Pepe then that indicates they have shelved their Zaha interest.......for now at least.
