Morgan was in action for Celtic in their pre-season friendly match against Rennes at Celtic Park on Saturday.
The 22-year-old winger started the game and played for 70 minutes, as it ended in a goalless draw.
The Scotland international gave a good account of himself during the time he was on the pitch and tried to make things happen for Neil Lennon’s Celtic.
Celtic fans were impressed with the display produced by Morgan and have praised the winger on Twitter.

I think Lewis Morgan will be a great player this year given a run in the team— peter mcvey (@petermcvey2) July 13, 2019

Scoreboard was blank but some positives. Griff, Morgan, Christie & French Eddy at the end, Hayes, Henderson. Also good to see the new bhoys in action. Hope Bitton is ok. Looking forward to the next game. #Celtic— Christina.Thompson (@chrissyghirl) July 13, 2019
6. Morgan— celticbynum8ers (@Alan_Morrison67) July 14, 2019
I really like Morgan. He is attacking-aggressive. He tries things. For him to be a regular at a club like Celtic more needs to come off for him.
Worryingly bad for half an hour then after we scored we jst looked like we got better and better MJ great performance liked the look of morgan aswell. Bitton had a decent game aswell— Notoriously Celtic (@TheNotoriousCSC) July 9, 2019
Things to note from @CelticFC v Rennes.— Cal (@CMcCeltic) July 13, 2019
• Morgan has a future at Celtic and if he wants to could run Sinclair close.
• Luca Connell is a player.
• Jullien miles off match sharpness but looks assured overall.
Thought Jullien looked good, will get better as he gets sharper— CelticVines (@Celtic_Vines) July 13, 2019
Connell was tidy enough, kept the ball well most of the time, some longer passes were a bit off
Morgan looks ready to make an impact
Desperately need a RB and a no10 in that order
Morgan was the only one wanting to take anybody on mate and getting back covering Ralston definitely deserved his MOTM— Robert Paterson (@madbhoab) July 13, 2019
Important season ahead
Morgan joined Celtic in January 2018, but the youngster spent the second half of the 2017-18 campaign on loan at his former club St. Mirren.
The winger failed to make an impact at Celtic Park during the first half of last season and moved to Sunderland in League One in England on loan in January 2019.
The Scotsman’s performances at Sunderland were mixed, and the 2019-20 campaign will be very important for him in terms of his long-term future at Celtic.
