The Black Cats announced the David Moyes signing had left the Stadium of Light on Friday.
The 24-year-old joined the Black Cats in the summer of 2016 from Manchester United under David Moyes's watch along with Paddy McNair for a combined £5.5million, according to BBC Sport.
However, Love's time at the Stadium of Light was far from impressive, with just 34 first-team appearances under his belt over the past three years (Transfermarkt) amid injuries and poor form.
After initially signing a four-year deal, Sunderland have allowed Love to leave 12 months early, the Scot sealing a move to fellow League One side Shrewsbury Town following his departure from Wearside (official Shrews website).
The Black Cats announced the news with a short statement on their site which they shared on their social media channels:

Here is some of the reaction by fans on the platform - needless to say, it doesn't seem as though anyone will be shedding a tear over his exit:

Quite possibly the worst RB I’ve ever seen at Sunderland, and I can remember Gareth Hall— Ernz (@ernzh671) 12 July 2019
