Fulham could end up with the Championship’s scariest attack this season if the West London club manage to pull off deals for reported transfer targets Ivan Cavaleiro and Anthony Knockaert.

According to Wolves Bite, Fulham have beaten both Derby County and Huddersfield Town to the signing of Cavaleiro. He will move on a season-long loan deal with the view of a permanent £12 million deal.

Cavaleiro was instrumental during Wolves’ promotion bid in 2017-18. The Portuguese winger netted nine goals and hit 12 assists, with his ability to power past fullbacks and swing in accurate crosses.

Fulham also earned promotion to the Premier League in 2017-18. Their route, however, was quite different as a superb second half run took them up via the Championship playoffs.

Then manager Slavisa Jokanovic favoured a possession-based controlling style of football. It was pleasing, but difficult to integrate in the Premier League as the club made so many signings last summer.

The Whites ultimately suffered relegation back to the Championship. However, they have managed to retain the services of star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic who netted 11 top-flight goals last season.

Few could argue how Mitrovic will be the best striker outside the Premier League next season. Add Cavaleiro to the mix and Fulham have a potent attack. Throw in Knockaert too and it’s a scary prospect.

The Sun claim Fulham are mulling over a £15 million deal for the Frenchman, while they could raise his wages to £40,000 per week. It is said Knockaert would be tempted by the offer to move to Craven Cottage.

The 27-year-old posted 15 Championship goals and eight assists during Brighton’s promotion in 2016-17. He was named the best player in the league that year, and he doesn’t look out of place in the top-flight.

Fulham are proving to be a big pull for players this summer, and the Whites could end up piecing together one of the best and most effective attacks the Championship has ever seen.
