Report outlines Tottenham Hotspur’s plan regarding William Saliba

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in William Saliba of Saint-Etienne.

According to a report in The Express, Tottenham Hotspur will throw William Saliba straight into the team should Toby Alderweireld leave.

Tottenham are reportedly interested in the Saint-Etienne defender and will get him right into the team should Belgium international defender Alderweireld depart this summer.

 

AS Roma are claimed to be interested in the former Ajax star, who reportedly has a £25 million release clause.

The report has also claimed that Tottenham have decided to make a move for the 18-year-old as a potential replacement for Jan Vertonghen in the long run.

Good signing for Tottenham Hotspur?

Saliba is one of the best young defenders in Europe, and the 18-year-old will certainly be a very good long-term signing for Tottenham.

The France Under-20 international though, might be a too young to be thrown straight into the Spurs starting lineup, as he will need some time to get used to manager Mauricio Pochettino’s system and to the rigours of the Premier League.
