Jack Clarke was in action for Leeds United against Guiseley on Thursday.
Clarke, who joined Tottenham Hotspur earlier this summer and will stay at Leeds on loan for the 2019-20 campaign, was in action for the Whites in their pre-season friendly match against Guiseley on Thursday evening.
The 18-year-old is a winger by trade, but Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa deployed the teenager in a central attacking role.
The youngster swapped positions with winger Helder Costa - signed on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers - regularly during the match, and he has given his take on playing in an unfamiliar role.
Clarke told The Yorkshire Evening Post: “It’s definitely a role I haven’t played for a while. But if they want me to play there I will try my best.
“I’d obviously be more suited out on either of the wings but if it’s a job I have to do I’m sure I’ll do it.”
Clarke playing in a more central role may be tough for him at the moment, but he is only 18 years of age, and it is a good time for him to add versatility to his game.
Bielsa is known to get the best out of young players, and Clarke should play in whichever position the Leeds head coach wants him to.
