Good signing for Rangers?

Helander has been playing in the Italian top flight for the past four seasons, and his success in Serie A underlines his quality.

The 26-year-old is just coming into his peak, and his 6ft 4in stature will help Rangers battle aerial threat from opposition attackers.

The signing of Helander means that Rangers manager Gerrard now has some competition at the back, with Connor Goldson, Nikola Katic and George Edmundson the other main central defenders.
