The Hoops academy graduate performed well in the Parkhead friendly against the French side.
A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the Hoops’ pre-season stalemate against Rennes and young Ewan Henderson’s display was praised.
The 19-year-old midfielder performed well for the Bhoys when called upon last season and, in Saturday’s game at Parkhead, he was one of the few bright lights in what was largely a snoozefest.
Henderson came close to opening the scoring in the first half after linking up with Scott Sinclair, but the Rennes goalkeeper thwarted the teenager.

The Hoops academy graduate almost got himself an assist when he set up Sinclair for a chance in the second half, but the forward fluffed his lines from close range.
Despite a stalemate which prompted some criticism from the Celtic fanbase on line, many agreed that Hendo’s performance bodes well going forward.
Here is some of the social media reaction from the Paradise faithful regarding Henderson’s performance against the Ligue 1 side at Paradise:
Good workout. Wee Henderson looks quality, most composed player on the park and the pick of the young team!

Deserved. But wee Hendo must have run him close. https://t.co/DKG3exZMK7

I was annoyed couldn’t make it today so just watched it. Wow that was pish best bit Henderson (he’s going to be an amazing player) and wee Morgan showing he can be a very useful player. In fact I think he could be a wing back on each side.

Scoreboard was blank but some positives. Griff, Morgan, Christie & French Eddy at the end, Hayes, Henderson. Also good to see the new bhoys in action. Hope Bitton is ok. Looking forward to the next game. #Celtic

The result today was irrelevant. So many players got on to the pitch and had an up-tempo training stint.

Connell, Henderson and Jullien looked excellent. Broony a standout as usual
All good for Wednesday
Attention now turns to Wednesday night, with Celtic preparing to host Sarajevo in the second leg of their Champions League qualifier, in which they currently boast a 3-1 first-leg advantage over the Bosnian-Herzegovinan side.
