Despite some hoopla surrounding a thematically relevant and purposeful in-game advert featuring an overly sexualised but still captivating transgender model, Cyberpunk 2077 continues to be the gaming community's most anticipated title as evidenced by its incredible pre-order sales. And, for the many detractors of the male V, CD Projekt RED has shared the fantastic news that there will indeed be a reversible cover for the physical copies.
CD Projekt RED has talked a lot about Cyberpunk 2077 and how it won't allow players to slam their fists into children and plot-related NPCs.
While this might be disappointing news for the Grand Theft Auto hooligans who enjoy battering every innocent NPC available, fans of the female V will no doubt be giddy to hear that CD Projekt RED is mirroring Mass Effect 3's reversible cover.
Cyberpunk 2077 reversible cover for male and female V
Although it was probably already confirmed when CD Projekt RED released their unboxing videos, the developer has now stated in a direct message shared on Reddit that the physical copies will boast a reversible cover.
This means that you'll be able to choose who adorns the front of your Cyberpunk 2077 retail copy: the male or female V.
As someone who enjoys box art and continues to buy physical copies for that very reason, this is admittedly minor but still fantastic news.
Cyberpunk 2077's default male protagonist is very jarring and off-putting as he simply resembles Jason Statham but with a bit more hair, meanwhile the female V is less generic and is more captivating with her overall look.
Granted, the bright yellow background and lack of creativity with the decor will still stop me from fawning over it, but I'd much rather see the female V rather than the male.
Plus, although the cover art is ultimately inconsequential, it makes sense for there to be a reversible cover as Cyberpunk 2077 is all about choice.
In other Cyberpunk 2077 news, its PS4 file size is almost as big as Red Dead Redemption 2.
