Tottenham Hotspur reportedly want to sign the Roma ace.
According to a report from Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato, Tottenham are prepared to offer €40 million (£36 million) plus Toby Alderweireld for the services of Roma ace Nicolo Zaniolo.
Alderweireld does, of course, have a £25 million release clause inserted into his current contract with Tottenham, but it would suit the north London outfit if they could include him in a deal to bring the 20-year-old Italian to the club this summer.
Spurs seem to be on the verge of creating something very exciting. They have already signed Tanguy Ndombele and Jack Clarke, but Mauricio Pochettino's business seems to be far from finished.
And signing someone like Zaniolo to go along with those two new additions really would take them to another level entirely.
The young Italian is an exceptional passer of the football and he possesses wonderful vision.
The prospect of him lining up alongside Ndombele, Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko will be an exciting one for Spurs fans.
Whether Roma will be prepared to sell Zaniolo for the reported fee of £36 million plus Alderweireld remains to be seen.
But on the face of it, it seems like a really good deal for both clubs, especially considering the fact that Tottenham are powerless to stop the Belgian from leaving this summer.
