The Iran international has left the City Ground after less than a year with the Reds and has joined Qatari side Al-Sailiya, putting pen to paper on a two-year deal.
Ansarifard joined Forest as a free agent last November following the cancellation of his contract with Greek side Olympiacos and went on to make 12 appearances for the East Midlands club.
All of the 29-year-old's appearances came in the Championship, with three starts coming his way and nine appearances off the bench, and he scored twice and claimed two assists, according to Transfermarkt.
He also missed a chunk of last season due to his participation in the AFC Asian Cup, in which he scored one of his nation's goals as Team Melli made it to the semi-finals of the competition.
Here is how what some Trickies fans made of Ansarifard's departure on the social media platform following the club making the announcement on their feed:
That’s actually shocked me, especially before getting a new striker in, he’s another we didn’t really get to see what he could do with a good run in the team, hopefully we’ve got something pretty good lined up— RobboTheRed (@Robbothered1) 12 July 2019
Had no problem keeping him as he looked like he had something to offer towards the end of the season.— martyn (@martynbigdog) 12 July 2019
But if we can get a good replacement in then i will be more than happy.
woefully underused— Steve Gibson (@Gibbo8) 12 July 2019
Good luck to him. Decent player and nice bloke. Regardless of other moves you could easily imagine him still having a role. His departure has to suggest one significant arrival, maybe more or the chance for one of the fringe strikers now. Interesting times. ATB Karim ❤️— Forest FanBase (@ForestFanBase) 12 July 2019
Wtf I’m hoping for a decent incoming striker— Juebb (@juliebuxtonberr) 12 July 2019
WHAT NO— dan (@growupdan) 12 July 2019
Shame. Don’t think we saw his true potential due to lack of chances. Hope he gets more of a run at his new club— Psycho was back V2 (@psychoFTID) 12 July 2019
Criminal how little he was used. Should have at the very least been ahead of Murphy in the pecking order.— Gaurav Gupta (@NottinghamGupta) 12 July 2019
He is a decent player too never got a chance— ❕ (@_stan15) 12 July 2019
Vydra please then as that will prevent him scoring against us wherever he goes otherwise or we forgive Dwight Gayle if we got him both available if you believe what you read either be great addition— gaz thomas (@GazThomas11) 12 July 2019
