Given his first Leeds outing at Nethermoor, Costa grew into the game and, following the hosts taking a shock lead, drew Marcelo Bielsa's side level.
The 25-year-old drove into the box from the right-hand side, ghosted past several opposition defenders and slotted the ball inside the far post.
On top of that, Costa also provided an excellent assist for Mateusz Bogusz, cutting the ball back for his teammate to convert with a smart finish.
Clarke, who came through the ranks at Leeds and is currently on loan after signing for Tottenham Hotspur, described his teammate as a "really special" player and hinted that there's more to come as he is not yet fully fit.
"He's a really special player as you saw tonight," the 18-year-old told Leeds Live following the 2-1 win at Nethermoor. "He's obviously not at full fitness but still capable of magic when he's on the ball and he's going to be massive for us this season and hopefully give us that little bit extra that we need to get up."
The Whites will soon be flying out to Australia, where they will take on Manchester United in Perth on 17 July before facing A-League side Western Sydney Wanderers in New South Wales three days later, and then will take on Serie A side Cagliari in Italy on 27 July (Yorkshire Evening Post).
