It has been yet another frustrating summer at Selhurst Park. Not only has just a single player arrived, free agent goalkeeper Stephen Henderson, Palace have cashed in on their popular academy graduate Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
If chairman Steve Parish doesn’t want a raging mob on his doorstep, he will do everything he can to stop Wilfried Zaha following the new Manchester United right-back out the door too.
And claims from the Guardian that Palace tried and failed to sign Luton Town flyer Justin at the eleventh hour won’t exactly improve the mood amongst an already disillusioned fan base.
There is a real why Justin was so in-demand this summer. He shone as Luton won the League One title last season, producing nine assists to earn himself a place in the Team of the Year. Did we mention that he’s equally comfortable at right-back or left-back?
He’d have been perfect for a Crystal Palace side who need competition for Patrick Van Aanholt on the left while scouring the market for Wan-Bissaka’s successor on the opposite flank.
But it seems that The Eagles swooped in a little too late. By the time they went all out for Justin, he was already on his way to Leicester for £6 million.
