Pokemon Go Armored Mewtwo

The following guide includes the stats, weakness, and best counters for Armored Mewtwo so you can beat the legendary foe in Pokemon Go before it disappears.

Away from the crazy world of Harry Potter: Wizards Unite and its impending Community Day spectacle, Niantic has just unleashed Armored Mewtwo into their hectic mobile wilderness populated by furries, Pokémon Go. Fortunately, although the Raid boss is expectedly difficult, you can find below a nifty guide for the legendary Pokémon's stats, weakness, and best counters so you can conquer it before it vanishes from the game.

Pokémon Go guide: Armored Mewtwo Stats

Mewtwo was first introduced in that Pokémon movie that made us all cry back in 1998, and Niantic has now unleashed an armored variant into the landscape of Pokémon Go.

Unfortunately, this legendary Pokémon will be snapped out of existence come July 31, meaning you only have just over two-weeks to beat it.

And, to help you do this, I've decided to compile its stats, weaknesses, and best counters for which you're very welcome.

Starting with its stats, Armored Mewtwo is a special Pokémon you'll only be able to battle in Legendary raids.

Compared to the non-event Mewtwos, the armored variant has a better defense but worse attack thanks to its metal protection.

Its Base HP is 214, its Base Attack is 182, and its Base Defence is 278.

Furthermore, its Raid Boss CP is 50,581 and its normal CP range is 1,740 to 1,821. And, finally, its Weather Boost CP range is 2,175 to 2,276, and its Max CP when powered up is 3,187.

Armored Mewtwo Moveset

As you'd expect from a legendary and limited-timed Pokémon, Armored Mewtwo has a range of devastating moves to easily batter you into submission.

Its quick moves include Confusion (Psychic) and Iron Tail (Steel), meanwhile its Charged Moves are Rock Slide (Rock), Dynamic Punch (Fighting), Earthquake (Ground), and Futuresight (Psychic).

Armored Mewtwo weaknesses and best counters

To beat Armored Mewtwo, you're going to need to be a bully that exploits its weaknesses and vulnerabilities to specific counters.

You'll need to tackle the legendary boss with either Bug, Dark or Ghost Pokémon as they are sponges for Mewtwo's psychic offence.

These are the Pokémon Mewtwo is weak against, and the following are the best counters to utilise: Gengar, Origin Giratina, Honchkrow, Houndoom, Lugia, Mewtwo, Tyranitar, Weavile.

In addition, you'll want to cheese the boss fight by focusing mostly on Dark Attacks and powerful Psychics.

As mentioned earlier, Armored Mewtwo is only available to beat in Pokémon Go until July 31.
