Danny Boyle's Yesterday, an enthralling mash-up of Beatles music and Richard Curtis rom-com, may only have hit cinemas a few weeks ago (June 28th, 2019) but attention is already turning to when the director's latest film will be heading to DVD and Blu-Ray.
Yesterday, which stars Himesh Patel, Lily James and Ed Sheeran of all people, has been dubbed as the feel-good film of the summer, something that's helped no end by the plethora of Beatles songs that pop-up throughout.
It's understandable, therefore, that long-time Beatles fans will be chomping at the bit to take home Danny Boyle's latest effort but just when is Yesterday set to hit store shelves?
What Yesterday is about?
Yesterday tells the story of failing singer-songwriter Jack Malik (Himesh Patel) and his unexpected rise to fame thanks to a freak power cut and bus accident.
Jack's music career is going nowhere and his material, although not bad, is failing to win any fans. That is until the aforementioned freak power cut and teeth-shattering bus accident.
The next day, Jack wakes to discover that only he can remember the iconic music of arguably the most famous band in history, The Beatles.
In a star-making turn of events, Jack sets to work at passing off The Beatles' music as his own.
When is Yesterday out on DVD and Blu-Ray?
Despite only hitting cinema screens on June 28th, 2019, Yesterday has already become available to pre-order when it releases on DVD and Blu-Ray.
However, as things stand, there is no official release date for the home release of Yesterday. Yet that doesn't mean we don't know roughly when it'll become available to buy.
Here in the UK, there is roughly a four-month turnaround between a film's cinema release and it heading to DVD and Blu-Ray.
This means that Yesterday is likely to be released on DVD and Blu-Ray towards the end of October or at the start of November. Our best guess right now would be Monday, October 28th, 2019 but we'll be sure to update you once we know the official release.
The Yesterday soundtrack is out now!
If you can't wait to hear Himesh Patel's renditions of The Beatles' iconic music, then you're in luck as the film's soundtrack is already available to buy at various outlets and stream on sites like Spotify and Apple Music.
Furthermore, if you want to listen to The Beatles songs that appear in Yesterday but performed by the original fab four then your needs are also catered for as the album Songs from Yesterday - The Movie: The Beatles' Original Versions is also out now and what a joyous listen it is.
Danny Boyle's Yesterday dropped into UK cinemas on June 28th and the home release of the film is expected later in 2019.
