Jack Roles was included in Tottenham Hotspur’s first-team training on Tuesday.

Mauricio Pochettino put Tottenham Hotspur players through their paces on Tuesday.

A number of major first-team stars were spotted, but Pochettino included a few surprises too.

Jack Roles, who was handed a new Tottenham contract last month, was among the young players in attendance.

The 20-year-old goalscoring midfielder was seen in a photo with Kieran Trippier and Paulo Gazzaniga, while Alfie Whiteman, a young Spurs goalkeeper, was in the same picture.

Roles, a Cyprus Under-21 international, had an excellent year with the Under-23s last season, scoring 11 goals and setting up six.

He also played a big part in Spurs’ reaching the last-16 phase of the UEFA Youth League.

At his age, though, he needs to be playing senior football and, having signed a two-year extension last month, it’s probable that Pochettino will loan him out.

The Argentine has an abundance of unbelievable midfielders, a list made more impressive by the addition of Tanguy Ndombele last week, and it’s very unlikely that Roles will be in contention for a long-awaited debut this season.
