Celtic put one foot in the second round of the Champions League qualifiers with an impressive 3-1 win on Tuesday night.
A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo's debut display as the Hoops took a big step towards the second qualifying round of the Champions League with a 3-1 win against FK Sarajevo.
Neil Lennon's men bounced back from going a goal down in less than ideal conditions to secure an important win. Mikey Johnston equalised before the break, before Odsonne Edouard and Scott Sinclair scored towards either end of the second-half to ensure that the Bhoys are in command of the tie.
The £3 million summer signing (fee reported by the Evening Times) played 57 minutes in Bosnia before being replaced by Jonny Hayes due to an injury. And judging by the reaction to his performance, the Celtic supporters are really hoping that the 24-year-old has only suffered a minor knock and will be back before too long.
Bolingoli-Mbombo looked bright when he needed to get forward and offer support in attack. And of course, given how many games Celtic play on the front foot throughout the season, that aspect of his game will certainly please the supporters.
It was always going to be a difficult night for any player in Celtic's squad to impress when the result was so much more important than the performance.
But the Belgian appears to have done enough to impress the Hoops fans and create plenty of optimism regarding how impressive a signing he is going to prove to be during his time at Parkhead.
Here is what some of the Celtic fans have said about the full-back's debut for the Bhoys...
Early doors but thought Mbombo done well until he was taken off.— CC (@TheLeatherBelts) July 9, 2019
Was a potential Banana skin for Celtic tonight, but experience and quality shone through. Second leg a formality, with Celtic set to add more to the scoreline at home.— Andy Muirhead (@andymuirhd) July 9, 2019
Still surprised to see Bitton in defence rather than Jullien. Mbombo did well before going off.
Mbombo looks like a really good addition— á ☘️ (@rebelcountybhoy) July 9, 2019
Thought Boli looked a good prospect ... If we can get a right back and a couple of more signings ....real No 10 should be another fantastic season. Christie really improves the forward momentum, keeping him fit is crucial.— Quadrupletreble (@888MumbaiMagic) July 9, 2019
Boli bhoy looked a pler, and judging by his second half injury, looks every bit a Celtic player— Angus Thongs (@medicationtime) July 9, 2019

Job done, should have been 7 or 8 but for a better final ball. Think we’ve found a player in the Holy Boli— Gary (@GaryC88) July 9, 2019
Not much to go on and too early to comment on Boli as a player, but I will anyway. Seems average in attack and very good positionally. Heard he was good in attack tho, so high hopes.— P (@BielsaBall) July 9, 2019
Went off injured early in the 2nd half but I thought he was impressive. Looked very pacy, had a few good passes. One terrific cross into the box and also got back to make a great challenge when they countered— Garry (@MaestroMcStay) July 9, 2019
Impressed with Bolingoli on his debut for Celtic, hopefully that's not a bad injury— Jonto (@Curtis__94) July 9, 2019
