Reported Panathinaikos target Vurnon Anita has not played a Championship game since Marcelo Bielsa took over at Leeds United.

Mino Raiola has admitted to SDNA that Vurnon Anita’s Leeds United career might well be over by talking up a potential move to Greek giants Panathinaikos.

It has been a busy day for the motormouth super-agent. Not only has he been in contact with talkSPORT to once again slam those who dare question the preening prince of world football that is Paul Pogba, he has also been discussing another midfielder who has endured a rather difficult time in the north of England.

Anita has barely had a look in since Marcelo Bielsa took over at Leeds in the summer of 2018, spending the entirety of last season on loan at Willem II in his native Holland.

SDNA claimed recently that The Whites could even terminate the veteran’s contract with 12 months remaining on his current deal to pave the way for a potential move to Greece.

And Raiola has now opened the door to a transfer.

"It is possible for Panathinaikos, yes. Everything is possible in life. We will see what will happen,” said the rent-a-quote representative, who also acts as an agent for the likes of Matthijs de Ligt, Mario Balotelli and Juventus wonderkid Moise Kean.

Leeds fans had probably forgotten all about Anita in truth. But are the Championship giants being a little quick writing off the one-time Ajax and Newcastle ace?

Quite simply, Leeds looked exhausted in the final few weeks of last season with Bielsa’s preference for a tight-knit squad undoubtedly a major reason why fatigue struck and they fell away with promotion in the grasp.

Anita, however, could be a valuable team player due to his ability to play in defensive midfield and in both full-back positions.
