Tyrone Mings has joined Aston Villa from Bournemouth.

Aston Villa star Jack Grealish has taken to Twitter to welcome Tyrone Mings back to the club.

Mings has joined Villa on a permanent contract from Bournemouth for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £20 million.

The 26-year-old defender spent the second half of last season on loan at the Villans from the Cherries and did quite well.

According to WhoScored, Mings made 18 appearances in the Championship for Villa during the second half of last season, scoring two goals in the process.

Villa ace Grealish – who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger and has a £60 million buyout clause in his contract, according to The Mirror – has welcomed the former Ipswich Town defender back to Villa Park.

Good signing for Aston Villa

Mings has had injury issues in recent years, but he is a very good defender who showed what he is capable of during the second half of last season.

Villa manager Dean Smith has made a very good and smart acquisition in Mings.
